MARCH 13	Texas Eastern pipeline for liquid propane explodes near North Blenham NY, killing two people and injuring seven.
MARCH 31	Buckeye pipeline near Freeport PA, damaged by a mud slide, spills 75,600 gallons of oil products into river, shutting down water supplies for several cities.
APRIL 26	Mobil pipeline spills up to 210,000 gallons of crude oil into Sabena River near Gorman TX, causing massive fish kill.
JUNE 8	Office of Pipeline Safety (OPS) issues "Disposition of Safety Proposals" in Federal Register, adopting only two of 18 proposals to improve pipeline safety.

AUGUST 18	President Bush signs Oil Pollution Act of 1990, passed in wake of Exxon Valdez spill, but it exempts pipelines from nearly all provisions.
AUGUST 29	UGI Corp. natural gas line explodes in Allentown PA, killing one person and injuring nine.
NOVEMBER 6	— Amoco pipeline rupture spills 300,000 gallons of crude oil near Salisbury MO, polluting nearby waters and killing wildlife.
DECEMBER 25	Coastal Derby pipeline spills 447,720 gallons of naptha on ground in Sedgwick County KS.
